Packing China
Crystals from China can break easily while handling and the chance of damage increases multifold while moving. So, they have to be packed carefully with a lot of additional padding. This can take a good amount of time and so allocate additional time in your plan for packing china.

The first step is to identify the china that have to be packed. Some china could be broken while others may not have been used for a long time. If you do not expect to use it in the near future, then its a good idea to donate it to someone who will use it. The broken china should be disposed off to prevent spending valuable time and effort in packing them.
The next step is to choose appropriate boxes for packing them. The boxes should be sturdy to offer a good measure of protection for your dishes. It is always safe to double-box the china for additional protection. These moving boxes can be purchased from a moving company or from reputable specialty stores that sell boxes. Dish boxes are the popular kind used for packing china. Though some people opt for a box that has cells or partitions, it is not the ideal one for china because the dishes can come in varying sizes and shapes and it may not be possible to fit all of it in a pre-partitioned box.
Once the boxes are ready, it is time to prepare them for packing china. The bottom of the box should be lined with a few layers of paper so that it can withstand any shock during transit. Some good choices of packing materials include packing paper, towels, clothes and old linens. The sides of the box also have to be padded. Each china dish should be wrapped in bubble wrap or packing paper. In the case of crystals, we recommend having more than one layer for wrapping. After the dishes are wrapped, they should be carefully placed inside the packing box. Make sure that it is not overloaded to prevent the box from tearing due to excess weight. Ideally, a medium sized box should have anywhere between ten to sixteen dishes, depending on the size and shape of the china. The last step is to add more padding at the top and seal the box with adhesive tapes. Finally, it should be marked as fragile.
Packing china is a tedious and time consuming process because each dish has to be wrapped individually in multiple layers of paper and cloth. If you are time-strapped, then the best option is to get in touch with a moving company who will be more than happy to do it for you.
